Korean Fire Chicken Buldak

There's a Korean culinary revolution and it's not just a passing trend – it's here to stay! The explosion of Korean cuisine on the international food scene is thanks in part to social media, with its unique blend of textures and flavors making waves1. Unlike its Asian counterparts, Korean dishes often feature cheese, adding a creamy balance to the spicy and sweet flavours. Coated in spicy gochujang sauce and topped with melted Caprano cheese, this Korean street food variation offers a mouthwatering experience that'll awaken your senses!

Ingredients

  • 20 ml Gochugaru
  • 75 ml Gochujang
  • 15 ml Soy Sauce
  • 50 ml Canola Oil
  • 100 ml Corn Syrup
  • 6 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 10 g Ginger, minced
  • 75 ml Water
  • 500 g Chicken Thigh, large dices
  • 100 g Caprano, shredded
  • 100 g Bocconcini, cocktail
  • 1 stalk Green Onion, bias cut

Directions

  1. Combine hot pepper flakes, hot pepper paste, soy sauce, canola oil, corn syrup, garlic, ginger and water in a bowl. Mix it well into a sweet and spicy paste. Add the chicken and mix well ensuring all the chicken pieces are well coated.
  2. Place the marinated chicken into a skillet. Cover and cook over medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
  3. When the chicken is cooked, add the cheese and place in the oven for a few minutes on broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Remove and garnish with green onion, serve hot with rice.
