Roasted Haloumi Lettuce Wraps with Jalapeño and Mango Salsa

Haloumi is rich, delicious, full of protein and a great vegetarian option. 

Grilled, roasted, hot, cold and no labour involved! These spicy, fruity lettuce wraps offer a fresh take sure to please your customers.

Ingredients

Chili Roasted Haloumi

  • 8 Saputo Haloumi Block Format (1.6 kg), sliced
  • 1 jalapeno, sliced
  • 1/4 cup crispy chili oil

Mango Avocado Salsa

  • 2/3 cup red onion, sliced very thin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 3/4 cup mango, small dice
  • 1/3 cup avocado, small dice
  • 2 tbsp cilantro
  • 2 heads butter lettuce, pieces for wraps

Directions

  1. Place sliced onion, salt and lime juice in a small bowl and mix. Press all to the bottom of the bowl. Let it sit for 15 minutes and add mango, avocado and cilantro and mix to combine. 
  2. Heat pan on medium heat and add Saputo Haloumi portions. Add jalapeno slices to the pan. When the Saputo Haloumi is nicely caramelized, flip it and glaze the top with crispy chilli oil and add jalapeno slices on top.
  3. Place avocado mango salsa on your lettuce leaves. 
  4. Add roasted Saputo Haloumi on top and garnish with cilantro leaves.
