Spiced Mochaccino

Directions

Add a spiced sugar blend to chocolate flavoured milk to create a seasonal beverage that can be served either hot or cold.

Served cold
Prepare a double espresso and pour it over ice. Add ¼ teaspoon of the spiced sugar blend to the espresso and a pinch of it to the chocolate flavoured milk. Froth the cold chocolate flavoured milk, then stir it into the espresso. Garnish with whipped cream and a few pieces of candied ginger.

Served hot
Dip the wet rim of a cup into the spiced sugar mixture. Add ¼ teaspoon of the spiced sugar blend to a double espresso and add a pinch of it to the steamed chocolate flavoured milk. Stir the chocolate flavoured milk into the espresso and sprinkle with a touch of the spiced sugar.

Go one step beyond: To prepare the spiced sugar blend, combine ½ teaspoon of cloves, ½ teaspoon of nutmeg, 2 teaspoons of ginger, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper with 2 tablespoons of sugar.

Make the most of this inspiration by customizing the spice blend to suit the season. In the winter, add a little more cinnamon for a comforting taste. In the summer, add a little extra ginger for a refreshing touch. Surprise your consumers with a five-spice blend.
