Bacon Cheeseburger Roast

Give comfort food an all-star upgrade!

A Cheeseburger Roast brings the fun and gets everyone in the game. This dish features juicy ground beef, savoury mushrooms, crispy bacon, and slices of Process Cheese, all combined into a hearty roast. Serve it up with a lineup of toppings like jalapeños, pickles, and onions, allowing diners to build their own creations. 

This new take on a burger not only saves you time in the kitchen but also turns a classic into a table-wide event that’s sure to keep the orders rolling.

Ingredients

  • Burger Roast:

    • 1 kg Ground Beef
    • 2 each Eggs, whole
    • 200 ml Panko Crumbs
    • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
    • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
    • 1 Tbsp Salt & Pepper
    • 10 slices Processed Cheese
    • 200 g Mushrooms, sliced
    • 12 slices Bacon
       

  • Burgers:

    • 1 each Cheese Bun
    • 50 ml Mayonnaise
    • 1 tbs Pickled Jalapeños
    • 1 slice  Burger Roast (250 g)

Directions

  1. For the Burger Roast: 
  2. Mix the ground beef, eggs, panko crumbs, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder in a large bowl until well combined.
  3. Spread the mixture out on a lined baking sheet evenly. Add the cheese and mushrooms, and carefully roll the meat into a log that is about the diameter of a burger bun.
  4. On another lined baking sheet, place the slices of bacon side by side, one next to the other. Place the meat roll on top of the bacon.
  5. Roll up the meat with the bacon, then wrap with foil. Bake for 30 minutes at 180˚C. Increase the temperature to 250˚C. Remove the foil and bake for 20 more minutes until the bacon is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Rest for 5 minutes.
  7. For the Burgers: 
  8. Toast the cheese buns, then spread with mayo and slice off a large slab of the burger roast. Place burger on the bottom bun, top with jalapeño slices and secure top bun.
